The 2024 China Maritime Day Fujian Seminar was successfully concluded

On the afternoon of July 12, the 2024 China Maritime Day Fujian Seminar and the "30th Anniversary of Fuzhou at Sea" Marine Science and Technology Innovation Commemorative Event with the theme of "Adhere to the Essence of the "3820" Strategic Engineering Thought and Promote the High-quality Development of Shipping" was successfully held in the Marine Economy Science and Technology Innovation Highland of Gulou District.

On the afternoon of July 12, the 2024 China Maritime Day Fujian Seminar and the "30th Anniversary of Fuzhou at Sea" Marine Science and Technology Innovation Commemorative Event with the theme of "Adhere to the Essence of the "3820" Strategic Engineering Thought and Promote the High-quality Development of Shipping" was successfully held in the Marine Economy Science and Technology Innovation Highland of Gulou District.

The event attracted nearly 200 people from all over the country to participate in the event, which reviewed the glorious history of the "Maritime Fuzhou" strategic concept and discussed the far-reaching impact of marine science and technology innovation on promoting the high-quality development of the marine economy.

At the beginning of the event, Wang Maosheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Gulou District Party Committee and executive deputy head of the district government, delivered a speech first. In 2023, the marine GDP of Fujian Province will reach 1.2 trillion yuan, accounting for 22% of the province's GDP, and Fuzhou's marine GDP in 2023 will be 325 billion yuan, ranking third in the country, and the marine economy has become a new economic growth point for the province and the city. As the core city of the provincial capital, Gulou adheres to the essence of the "3820" strategic engineering thought, seizes the opportunity of "multi-district superposition", gives full play to the advantages of political and business, scientific research, finance and other resource agglomeration, and builds a marine economy science and technology innovation highland in a sealess land, which is also the specific action of Gulou District to deeply practice the important concepts and major practices of General Secretary Xi Jinping. I sincerely hope that you will share your wisdom with the Drum Tower, work together to make the sea stronger; We hope that everyone will actively go to the highlands to visit the Gulou, invest in the industry, jointly build the optimal development ecosystem of sea-related industries, and continue the new glory of "Fuzhou on the Sea". 

Experts and scholars gave keynote speeches on "Smart Navigation for a Smooth Future". Qiu Han, Senior Surveyor of Fuzhou Branch of China Classification Society, gave academic speeches on the theme of "Lithium Battery Marine Safety Risk Analysis and Response", Professor Wang Jianping of Dalian Maritime University on the theme of "Development of Structural New Qualitative Technology of Hydrogen Energy and Its Industrial Chain", and Ji Yongbo, Director of the Strategy Division and Principal Researcher of the Water Transport Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, gave academic speeches on the theme of "Development Trend and Challenges of New Energy Electric Ships". 

After the sharing by scientific research experts, cultural scholars gave a keynote speech on "Cross-Strait Integration and Mutual Communication, Promoting Shipbuilding Culture", and Chen Yihui, Director of the Arbitration Department of the Cross-Strait Arbitration Center, gave a keynote speech on "Arbitration Solutions for Maritime Disputes"; Lin Yingyao and Wang Ruilin, well-known experts in shipbuilding culture of Fujian Shipbuilding Cultural Exchange Association, gave keynote speeches on "Promoting Shipbuilding Culture and Building Fuzhou on the Sea". 
In the keynote speech session, experts and scholars shared their latest achievements and cutting-edge thinking in the field of marine science and technology. Participants agreed that advancing the use of clean energy and reducing carbon emissions is the only way to achieve a sustainable ocean economy. 

At the end of the event, an interactive exchange session was arranged, and marine experts, scientific researchers, business representatives and guests from relevant departments actively spoke, expressed their opinions and offered suggestions. 

This event is not only a comprehensive display of marine science and technology innovation achievements in the past 30 years, but also an in-depth outlook on the future marine development strategy. It not only deepens the public's understanding of marine protection and sustainable use, but also points out the direction for the future development of marine science and technology and navigation in our province.
